The Angler sells the dream of a trip into an enormous reserve. Drive to a remote lake, scout a new bank on foot, or take out a boat. Nature often becomes the real trophy, with fishing serving as the reason to explore the map.

What works

  • Large, scenic reserves with very different moods.
  • Free-form travel by boat, vehicle, or on foot.
  • Co-op works especially well for relaxed evening outings.

Where the line tangles

  • Casting and fish-fighting physics do not always feel convincing.
  • There is a great deal of travel between interesting spots.

Who is it for?

First of all, fans of beautiful open worlds and relaxed trips with friends. Choose it for the journey and the company. It is debatable as a strict simulator, but excellent as a virtual escape into nature.

The most scenic fishing game in the list: exploring its reserves is sometimes more enjoyable than catching fish.
